Nicole Scherzinger Burns Her Broadway Bridges, Ditching Cats For X Factor… And Andrew Lloyd Webber Is Absolutely FURIOUS!
We love her… but this is a TERRIBLE career move!
And it sure doesn't hurt that Andrew Lloyd Webber himself is her biggest supporter having utilized her numerous times as Christine in Phantom of the Opera.
Unfortunately, it seems as though Nicole isn't too appreciative of the legend taking a chance on a pop star because she just chose X Factor over one of the most famous musicals of all time!
Apparently, Nicky was supposed to begin rehearsals for Cats on Broadway next week but decided last minute to return to the UK singing competition now that Cheryl, Rita Ora, and Nick Grimshaw have all quit!
The Right Honourable Lord Webber is rightfully pissed because he actually believed she was set to win the Tony Award for her role as Grizabella in 2017, saying:
Five down, one to go.
The singer — who is totally not Becky with the Good Hair — apparently followed fellow judges Nick Grimshaw and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, as well as cohosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack, out the door, leaving just Simon Cowell and the recently returned Dermot O'Leary as the faces of the show.
Rita shared her decision in a heartfelt message to fans on Twitter late Monday night, saying:
Sounds like they could seriously use some work from home days…
Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke, Camila Cabello, Normani Kordei, and Lauren Jauregui are currently on the cover of Billboard Magazine looking all sexy and confident, but in the pages they get surprisingly real about their struggles.
For one thing, Camila opens up about how going from auditioning for X Factor as a soloist to being in an A-List band gave her unbelievable anxiety, saying:
"I'll start with the low because that led to the high: I was having terrible anxiety, nonstop. My heart would beat really fast the whole day. Two hours after I woke up, I'd need a nap because my body was so hyperactive. It was so eff — sorry, but it was so f*cked up. I was scared of what would happen to me, of the things my brain might tell me. I realized the stuff I thought was important isn't worth my health. Now I write in a diary every day, work out and meditate."
We're glad she figured out what works best for her!
However, Lauren shares similar feelings about the Simon Cowell singing competition:
He'll eat your liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti — AND insult your singing voice!
We first heard about Howard's exit way back in June of last year, but it looks like NBC wants us to get excited for Simon's return to TV because the competition series' first teaser is too much to handle!
We all love to hate Simon as an on-screen villain, but Heidi Klum, Mel B, Nick Cannon, and Howie Mandel, aren't taking any chances with their evil costar — going as far as locking him up Silence of the Lamb style!
Will U be tuning in for Simon on AGT??
Ch-ch-check out a sneak peek of America's Got Talent ahead of its premiere on May 31 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC (below)!!!
What a ratings boom! A little too late though…
Simon Cowell, Barack Obama, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and a whole host of others showed up for the series finale of American Idol on Thursday night, and that star power helped ensure a LOT of people watched the last episode ever of the impactful show!
While last season's finale was an all-time low for the music competition show, the star-studded appearances — and let's be honest, the idea that this was the last Idol ep EVER — ensured that last night's finale was up 76% in the 18-49 demographic, and up 61% in total viewers from the week before!!
In total, the show drew 12.94 million people in to watch the two-hour finale, which was the best ratings for a finale that Idol has gotten in three years.
It appears viewers didn't forget that nostalgia, either — and sent Idol off into the sunset the right way!
Did U watch last night?! What'd U think of the finale??
