This is just so terribly sad to hear.
Russian skier Maria Komissarova suffered from a pretty nasty accident during a practice run at the 2014 Sochi Olympics which resulted in a fractured vertebrae in her lower back.
Unfortunately, this has lead to even worse news as she confirmed
Usually if you make someone cry, the very least you can do is offer a simple "I'm sorry."
Well, apparently NBC never got the memo! This past weekend, reporter Christin Cooper rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when she repeatedly asked Bode Miller about his deceased brother and made him cry in front of the camera!
NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell decided to speak out about the controversial, and in his mind there was absolutely nothing wrong with the waterworks:
You don't get to the Olympics without sacrificing a little blood, sweat, and tears! Unfortunately, Rowan Cheshire found this out the hard way!
The 18-year-old British skier was forced to withdraw from the winter games after a horrible accident during a training run in the halfpipe knocked her unconscious!
Well Rowan took to Twitter to share a painful selfie of the aftermath, and it does NOT look very good!
Formula One legend Michael Schumacher loves speed in any way he can get it — be it driving super fast, or flying down a mountain on skis. It's just such a shame that it was the latter that put him in the hospital.
It was the recreational sport, not the dangerous one he does for a living, that put him in a coma.
According to new sources, he hit his head on a rock after falling 34 feet down a mountain. At 45 years old, he's been in a coma since we first reported on it in December, which worries us that we haven't been updated with a positive change yet.
The culprit that started the fall was a boulder partially hidden by snow. His injuries are life-threatening, but we really really hope he can pull through!

This weekend, U.S. skier Bode Miller won the bronze medal in the Super-G competition at the Sochi Olympics and was interviewed by NBC reporter Christin Cooper immediately after.
The veteran Olympian mentioned how this race was particularly emotional due to
Winning an Olympic medal is cool and all, but what if you DIDN'T have to dedicate your life to training and still manage to snag a date with someone who did??
That's what's happening for one fan who will win a date with U.S. Bronze Olympic Skier Nick Goepper!
Nick says that he's about to choose
Who knew there would be so many wardrobe malfunctions at the Sochi Olympics?!
After Russian speed skater Olga Graf showed a little extra skin after her race this week, Swedish slopestyle skier Henrik Harlaut decided to follow suit! Sort of.
The 22-year-old olympian is known to wear his pants a
bit LOT lower than most of his competition, and after one of his runs yesterday he practically mooned the crowd and had a Justin Bieber moment when his trousers fell down to his knees!
Luckily, Henrik was
