When most sports figures retire from public life, they ask only to be remembered. Abby Wambach wants the opposite.
The U.S. Women's Soccer Team star announced her retirement with a dramatic final tweet — before deleting her Twitter entirely!
Wow. Cristiano Ronaldo is coming under fire for his now-famous bromance!
Besides claims that the Real Madrid soccer star's team is worried about all the time he is spending jetting off to Morocco to hang with his BFF, kickboxer Badr Hadir (pictured above), one reporter took it even further.
Possibly in reference to all the pictures they share on Instagram, reporter Daniel Riolo contributing on the popular French TV show Touche pas à mon sport suggested:
"Take the example of Cristiano Ronaldo - I'm sure flying off to Morocco three to four times a week to see a friend and cuddle with him might have an impact on his performances eventually."
Umm. Say what??
Clearly the reporter was going for shock factor!
While Cristiano hasn't directly responded to his remark, he did happen to post to IG on Thursday:
This isn't good sportsmanship… or good humanity in general.
Turkish soccer fans booed during a moment of silence for the 129 victims of Friday's Paris terror attacks before a friendly international game in Istanbul on Tuesday.
The mark of respect was observed at games across Europe and the U.S. — including Wembley Stadium where France faced off against England.
Before kickoff, players on the national teams for Turkey and Greece took part in the moment of silence, but several fans in the stands were heard booing and jeering.
According to reports, some fans even started chanting "Allahu Akbar" or "God is greater" in the stands.
How can one person be so perfect?
And yet David Beckham has somehow managed it all!
On top of being a ridiculously good looking and talented soccer star millionaire, the 40-year-old does incredible charity work with UNICEF, traveling all over the world to play soccer matches on every continent with the goal of raising awareness and funding for the organization.
Becks began his tour on Wednesday, November 4 in Papua New Guinea, and has so far visited Nepal and Djibouti, meeting up with children at every stop.
In Nepal, the athlete was even given bunny ears by one young fan! So cute!
He captioned the pic:
