Rocky: The Musical Coming

Rocky The Musical

Imagine: The sweat, the blood, two men beating the crap out of each other. The songs and lyrics they sing.

Wait, what??!

Yeah, apparently they're working on a Rocky musical!

Here's what Stallone has to say:

“I always had the idea of Rocky as a musical. At the end of the day, Rocky is a love story and he could never have reached the final bell without Adrian. To see this story coming to life on a musical stage makes me proud. And it would make Rocky proud.”

We're not sure Rocky can be proud of anything, being a fictional character, but yes, there will be Eye of the Tiger.

Let's hope that it comes to America, because right now it's slated for Germany!

expendables-stunman-stable-condition.jpg

Last week, we posted that stuntman, Kun Lieu, sadly passed away while working on the set of Expendables 2.

As for the second stuntman, Nuo Sun, who was hospitalized, his condition has been upgraded to "stable," which is great news.

He's been taken to a facility in Munich, Germany for further treatment.

Meanwhile, production company Nu Image/Millenium Films have released a statement on the two stuntmen:

Uh-oh! They're down one Expendable!

Although Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger will both have expanded roles in the upcoming Expendables 2, it appears that original castmember Mickey Rourke will not be reprising his role in the next installment!

Apparently, the only reason

Arnie, Sly, And Willis On The Set Of Expendables 2

Sly Willis Arnold Expendables 2

There it is, guys: the first pic of the legendary trio together on the set of Sylvester Stallone's follow up to his popular Expendables movie!

The pic came from Anrold's twitter, but there's no word as to how they fit into the flick. They WERE in the first one, but briefly. We can only assume they've been expanded — Sly style!

Like the first installment, this one will be packed with action stars too.

But, we wish they had gotten Aaron Sorkin to write the script this time around.

Ha!

Did U like the first? Pumped for the next?

Arnold Schwarzenegger And Bruce Willis Sign On For MAJOR Roles In The Expendables 2!

arnold and bruce join expendables 2

Deplorable scandals aside, let's take a moment to acknowledge that the childhood dream of basically every man who was a kid in the '90s has just come true!

It was slightly over a year ago that Sylvester Stallone opened up about his massive plans for The Expendables franchise, which included a director's cut AND a sequel.

Now, LOTS of progress is being made on The Expendables 2, and we've just learned that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have signed on for substantial roles in the action flick!

Filming stars this October, which will take place around the same time that Arnold shoots Last Stand, and right before Bruce shoots Die Hard 5.

A bunch of the original cast members will also be returning, and other new additions MAY include Jean-Claude Van Damme and……drum roll….CHUCK NORRIS!

Chuck Norris doesn't sign on to The Expendables 2………….The Expendables 2 signs on to Chuck Norris.

LOLz!

How do U feel about this flick? Are U willing to give Arnold a second chance???

Weird! New Rambo Flick Has Same Title As Upcoming Arnold Movie

rambo 5 has same title as arnold flick

Come on, guys! Let's get a little bit more creative with our titles!

Back in 2006, Brett Ratner released the third X-Men movie, which he titled X-Men: The Last Stand.

Then, back in April, we first heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger had a new project on the horizon, which is titled Last Stand.

NOW, we're hearing that

Sylvester Stallone Goes Theatre! Rocky Musical In The Works

rocky musical in the works

Hopefully they can get moving on this quickly, so producers can get going on a Rambo musical next! LOLz!

After hearing that The Weinsteins are adapting basically every movie they ever made into Broadway plays, it sadly doesn't come as a major surprise to us that Sylvester Stallone has assembled a team to put together a musical adaptation of his 1976 Best Picture winner Rocky.

Looks like the Rocky team plans to launch the musical in Germany in fall 2012, and then they're hoping to bring it to Broadway by Spring 2013.

Here's what book writer Thomas Meehan had to say about the project:

"It’s been a long gestation period, but it’s come to be a work that we’re really proud of. There was some worry early on — could we really make a musical out of a boxing picture? Could you make Rocky sing and dance? But when we did the reading, people were very impressed, and we’re going forward."

"At first I thought, all the world needs is a Rocky musical. But then I looked at the film. I thought it had beautiful construction and such high emotion, and it was a natural musical: There is a David and Goliath story, a Cinderella story, a love story between two outcasts. It’s less about boxing than about finding self-respect and finding your soul mate."

Sorry Thomas, but we're skeptical about this one!

While we're completely stretching it with our movie-to-musical adaptations, maybe they should make a Broadway musical version of Pearl Harbor next! At least there's already a song about that movie in Team America. Ha!

Will U go see the Rocky musical when/if it makes its way to Broadway?
