The Veronicas have been channeling their personal lives for in the recording process of their new album.
The sisters spoke to Perez at our "One Night In Los Angeles" event about their new songs and much more, including why Australians are awesome. Because they are!
We had four acts at our first-ever "One Night In Los Angeles" event last year. This past weekend, we had EIGHT performers and managed to raise over $10,000 for the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN).
It was SUCH a successful evening! Check out some highlights above!!!
A HUGE thank you to Demi Lovato, Gavin Degraw, Michelle Branch, Busta Rhymes, Far East Movement, The Veronicas, JoJo, Natalia Kills and everyone on their teams that helped make it all possible. Plus, special thanks also to our wonderful DJs, Jus Ske, Pete Wentz, Ryan Kenney and Dr. Hollywood.
All of this would not have been possible without our friends at BMF Media, who help put on all our events, and the support of our sponsors for "One Night In Los Angeles". Thank you to CARRERA, CUT THE ROPE, SOUL BY LUDACRIS, POPCHIPS, ASAHI and TITO'S!
The Veronicas are back, gearing up for the release of their new album AND performing at our One Night In… Los Angeles party this weekend!
Two of our favorite Aussies, the girls are joining a stellar lineup that includes Gavin DeGraw, Busta Rhymes and some really cool surprises!
The Veronicas will be playing some new songs, like the exquisite Let Me Out, which we posted about recently, as well as their hits, like Untouched (above).
And, what we're especially excited about is that all this great music at our party will also benefit a really great cause!
100% of all money raised from ticket sales is going directly to one of our favorite charities, GLSEN, the Gay Lesbian & Straight Education Network.
Yes, for the first time ever, we are selling tickets to one of our "One Night In" events! That means you will be guaranteed admission to see The Veronicas, Rhymes, DeGraw and all the other amazing artists and surprises!
As we are winding down 2010, take a look back at some of our highlights of the past 12 months (above).
We did sooooo much!
Thanks Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, Nicole Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy, Nelly, Adele, Bruno Mars, Gloria Estefan, Leah Remini, Tim Gunn, Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Jesse McCartney, Margaret Cho, Janice Dickinson, Joey Lawrence, The Saturdays, Lisa Rinna, Keri Hilson, Trevor Donovan, Ingrid Michaelson, Brian McFadden, Jake Shears, Marina & The Diamonds, Duffy, Laura Bell Bundy, Michael Lohan, Natalia Kills, Momma Perez, Teddy Hilton and everyone else who made it possible, especially the amazing LJ!
Billy Corgan has confirmed his relationship with The Veronicas' Jessica Origliasso!
He says:
"She's a really beautiful person inside and out… I was in a good place and that's why I ended up in a good relationship. Both of us have been in stormy relationships. You've got to be ready to be in a great relationship. Being with someone as beautiful and talented as Jess is you've gotta be real… We both understand what it's like to be not really understood. We have that support for each other and understand what each other are going through. It's only made my life better.
"She's brought a lot of sunshine in my life, but I was ready to receive it. The window was open. If she'd met me a few years ago I don't know if I would have understood her, she's just such a unique person, there's not a lot of people I've ever met who are like her… It's all good."
It's been a hot second since we've seen or heard from The Veronicas. But, the Australian sisters are prepping to release new music very soon and we catch up on everything they've been up to - yes, that includes men. We do talk Billy Corgan.
At least, we think it is! Almost positive, actually!
Angelina Jolie was at the Berlin International Film Festival today, where she is screening her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood and Honey out of competition, when she announced that the long-rumored project was next up for her - even though she didn't specifically call it by name!
She explains:
"I haven't acted in two years, and I haven't done anything else since this . The next thing I am looking at is a Disney movie. The best thing to find that balance is to do something that is just for children. You know, you find different ways to make things matter. When, for example, you do fun action movies, they are empowering for my daughters."
And since we've gotten word that the Luc Besson movie she had been eyeing seems to have stalled, and Maleficent recently got Robert Stromberg as a director, we think it's safe to say that the Linda Woolverton-written adaptation of the classic fairy tale is definitely where we'll see her next!
