This was one of Karl Lagerfeld's best ideas YET!
And that's really saying something!
Back in February it was announced that Tilda Swinton would be the new face of Chanel's Metier d'Arts Paris-Edimbourg collection, and now that ads are finally here!
Shot by Unkle Karl in Scotland's (possibly haunted) Linlithgow Palace, the 52-year-old exudes otherworldly and slightly eerie beauty, and proves that nobody could've quite pulled off these lavish, opulent designs like she does.
We'd KILL for every sumptuous piece in this collection!

Wow! This is mind-blowingly AWESOME!
Even though we expect Tilda Swinton to deliver avant-garde craziness in every magazine spread, we still get awestruck by the results!
The actress's W May cover whet our appetite earlier this week, but it's nothing compared to the surrealist images shot by Tim Walker for the inside pages, which feature Tilda in exotic landscapes and outfits!
Wearing Alexander McQueen, Mary Katrantzou, Prada, Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Rochas, the 52-year-old gamely exploits her unconventional looks to bring the mysterious and haunting story to life.
And it's amazing how easily she embodies each look! She's a total chameleon!

Sleeping Beauty has risen!
Tilda Swinton woke up from her nap at MoMA to pose for W's May cover, and we're very pleased with the results!
The 52-year-old brings her otherworldly brand of fierceness to the magazine, capitalizing on her signature androgynous look in a puff-sleeve jacket, gauze-y headscarf, and surgical-looking white gloves.
Spooky and ethereal!
We've definitely come to expect this from the actress, but she does it so well that we can't fault her.
Now, where are those Chanel ads? We need to see them already!

The resemblance is uncanny!
Tilda Swinton attended the V&A Museum's David Bowie exhibition in London on Wednesday, looking supremely dapper in her gunmetal gray, mixed print ensemble.
The new face of Chanel's Metier D'Arts campaign chose beautifully tailored tweed trousers and light-reflecting blazer by Haider Ackermann.
She even rocked a David Bowie-approved pompadour!
Though David wasn't there, these two are clearly still vibing off each other's personas and WE LOVE IT!
Now…let's dance!

Great Scot!
Androgynous beauty Tilda Swinton has been named the new face of Chanel.
The actress will star in ads for the Metiers d'Arts Paris-Edimbourg campaign, which is the Scottish-influenced collection Karl Lagerfeld unveiled at Scotland's Linlithgow Palace back in December.
Unkle Karl personally picked Tilda to front the campaign, saying:

First it was gummy bears, and now this!
TWELV magazine is certainly making a name for themselves with their unusual dresses and for their second issue, they’ve made a dress of ice!
The 532.6 pound ice sculpture inspired by Tilda Swinton's Ice Queen character in The Chronicles of Narnia was carved by Takeo Okamoto, constructed by three people and took 13 people to move it into place!
The model for the "Ice Queen" spread had to make her pictures count because they only had 30 minutes to shoot before it melted!
Luckily, though, she didn’t really have to wear the freezing frock since it weighed so much.
We’re kinda loving how artistic this looks!
What do U think???
