Daddy's to blame!

Us Weekly is reporting that Jessica Simpson's father, dadager Joe Simpson, nearly ruined her relationship with Tony Romo.

He's apparently the reason for the couple's brief split in May.

Seems like Poppa Joe wanted to cas$h in on his daughter's impending engagement to the Dallas Cowboys Quarterback.

Dad had planned to sell the exclusive on the engagement news, and, as we all found out, things took a very sour turn!

According to the report, Tony has given Jessica a final ultimatum.

She needs to tell dad to back off or he's gone.

As for Joe, he says “It’s unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients. And in this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?"

Riiiiiight.

Joe adds, "A parent will always be there for his kids and never give up on them. I work hard seven days a week for my girls because I love them. Why in the world would I ever want to do anything that would hurt my children?"

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are giving their romance another try.

However, according to reports, Tony's in ONLY if Joe Simpson backs off.

A source reveals that Romo has told Jessica their renewed relationship is ”a trial thing,” dependent on Poppa Joe ”leaving them alone” and stifling his tendency to tell Romo how to run his life, career and endorsement deals.

Wonder how long Joe can keep his meddling ways in check?

Jessica Simpson may be on and off with Tony Romo, but this weekend they were definitely ON.

Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that the blonde has spent the past couple of days in Dallas with the Cowboys quarterback.

On Saurday night, the couple - looking "relaxed" but not "lovey dovey" - had dinner together at N9Ne steakhouse.

Then, on Sunday, sources tell us that Tony & Yoko Romo had brunch together at Sneaky Petes in Lewisville, TX.

Those two crazy kids, making it work!

It's nice to see some semblance of what we think actually happened seep out!

A wedding guest at the Simpson/Wentz nups claims that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo barely interacted all night!

The guest revealed, "Jessica did not look happy the entire night. She just wasn't her bubbly self. She was very subdued, and she and Tony barely interacted the entire night, except for some dancing at the end."

This is a complete 180 from the shizz being pumped out by People magazine's 'inside' source.

"Kissing and holding hands throughout the night" our ass!

All we have to say is, remember…People magazine paid crap loads of money for the Ass wedding pics!!

They're in bed with the Simpson family and their "reporting" in this instance can't be trusted!

Reports keep circulating that Jessica Simpson and “boyfriend” Tony Romo have split, even though Poppa Joe is trying his hardest to pair the two back together.

Tony may have been a gentleman by escorting Jess to sis Ashlee’s first wedding, but that’s as much as he was willing to do!

Considering that the pair had not been photographed together in about three weeks, we're sure it must have been awkward for both of them.

On Sunday, after Ass' nuptials, Jess and her parents took a family vacation to Mexico, but Romo was nowhere in site.

Poppa Joe, mom Tina, and Jess boarded a private jet to Cabo San Lucas on Sunday for some relaxation.

In place of Romo, Jess made sure to take her dog Daisy instead.

Sad. Poor Jess. Poor poor Jess. Poor lonely spinster Jess.

If it’s not meant to be, then it’s not meant to be!

We’re sure Cabo must bring back some bad memories for Simpson, who visited last year with boy-kisser John Mayer and apparently called it quits then.

Will Jess and Tony get back together?

A source says Romo’s “broken up with her before, but I don't know if they'll get back together this time.”

For the record, Jessica Simpson's rep has called the breakup talk surrounding Jess and Tony Romo "not true."

To prove this point to the world, Poppa Joe Simpson a family insider reveals to People magazine, who paid over $1 million for Asslee's wedding pics, that Jess and Romo were super loved-up this weekend!

Once again, uh huh!

Tony and Yoko Romo were spotted together Friday on a sushi run in L.A., and later he was by her side again during her sister's wedding rehearsal dinner, which Jess hosted at her LA home.

The 'source close to the couple' reported, "They were very cozy and cute together. She's definitely not mourning John Mayer! She was in an amazing mood and so happy her sister was getting married."

That Poppa Joe is so eloquent!

The 'source' goes on to say that at the Asslee/Pete Wentz nups, "They (Jess and Romo) were kissing and holding hands throughout the night. He was very sweet to her. They were very much a couple."

Who knew Tony Romo was such a good actor???

He came through!

Tony Romo is such a gentleman, y'all.

Even though he dumped Jessica Simpson, according to MULTIPLE reports, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback caved in to the pressure and agreed to be her date for Ashlee Simpson's wedding.

The former couple were seen driving into Poppa Joe and Tina Simpson's estate in Encino early Saturday afternoon (above).

And, no, Tony's not wearing a baseball cap to the wedding.

Simpson and Romo had clothes hanging in the back seat.

Poor Jessica.

Her sister's happy day must be so sad for her!
