At the Perth Zoo in Australia, thirteen baby Western Swamp Tortoises were born!!
The zoo has been working since 1989 to help conserve these tortoises because they're critically endangered.
They're rebuilding their wild population through their captive breeding/reintroduction program.
Since the program started all those years ago, over 800 tortoises have been born there and 600 of those have been successfully reintroduced into the wild!!
That's ahmayzing!
When these little guys are born they're so crazy small it's ridiculous!
We really realllllly want one! These little guys are painfully cute and we think they'd be perfect just crawling around our hands, all small and cute and tortoisey.

Usually when a sea turtle loses a fin due to a shark attack - there's now a finless turtle in the world and that's the end of that.
But when Hu, a 25-year-old female loggerhead, was found by fisherman and sent to the Suma Aqualife Park in Kobe, Japan - the researchers there were hellbent on getting this turtle a fin again!
They tried 27 times without success. But when they used two rubber fins, held together by a slip-over vest to prevent Hu from breaking free, they found a winner!!

At the London Zoo, tortoise sex is the bee's knees. So much so…they have a pianist (get your mind out of the gutter!) serenading two reptiles during their seksi time!
A family in Brazil got QUITE the surprise when a missing friend turned up after 30 years on the lam.
The Brazilian family, the Almeidas, renovated their home and Manuela, the family's red footed tortoise, went missing. Many thought she escaped and went to live in the forest nearby.
Three decades later, the patriarch of the family died and the children returned home to clean house.
And who was there guarding all of their father's belongings????
