Trouble for Fox and Lee Daniels, or just a woman looking for a payday?!
Sophia Eggleston, a 53-year-old Detroit woman, is suing the network and Daniels, the creator of Empire, for $300 million, alleging the show is based off her life story and she ought to be compensated for the portrayal of character Cookie Lyon, played by Taraji P. Henson!

Eggleston's suit lays out a lot of tall tales, like how she was an alleged drug kingpin, and that she once did jail time after placing a hit on a man. She also wrote a book about her drug lifestyle as a younger woman, and in 2011, she traveled to El Lay and met with a screenwriter about adapting the book for television or a movie.
That never happened, but now Eggleston alleges that the Empire creators had their hands on the book and picked out many parts of her life story to use in the hit show.
Speaking to reporters, Eggleston seemed fairly confident about her lawsuit, saying:
