And just to think - the movie had been supposedly shut down just a few short months ago!
Last we heard about the long-anticipated Riddick sequel, Battlestar Galactica alum Katee Sackhoff had been cast as the lead opposite Vin Diesel in the upcoming movie!

The franchise that kicked off Vin Diesel's career is getting another addition, a third film in the Riddick series.
Having been on Battlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff knows how to do science fiction — which could be one of the reasons she's been chosen to play opposite Vin Diesel for part three of the chronicles!
She'll be playing Dayl, a nordic mercenary after Diesel's Riddick. We also hear that Karl Urban has signed back on for Vaako!

Well, we had forgotten about this franchise entirely already, so we guess it's not the end of the world!
Vin Diesel's long-awaited sequel to the Chronicles of Riddick franchise has apparently been shut down because of serious financial problems!

Yep, word on the street has it that the sixth and seventh installments of the Fast and the Furious franchise will be filmed back to back, working on one interlinking plot.
Chris Morgan is currently deciding what the hell this one is gonna be about finalizing the story. And many fingers point to F&F vet Justin Lin to return in the director's chair.
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, and The Rock are all returning of course, but
