An announcement could come as soon as Thursday, so be ready for more updates as more is revealed.
It looks like Sony will not be putting out The Interview at all.
In a statement, the studio said:

Amidst rumors of physical abuse, Mel B has moved out of the house she shares with her husband, Stephen Belafonte.
Yesterday, luggage and boxes were allegedly seen outside their residence.
Fans became immediately suspicious after the former Spice Girl was seen on Sunday's taping of The X Factor U.K. sporting bruises and scratches on her face and skin — and she was also not wearing her wedding ring.
This is incredibly sad!
Earlier in the week, the reality TV judge missed Thursday's taping as she was rushed to the hospital and had to be replaced with former judge Tulisa Contostavlos.
Fans took to social media to voice speculation on whether the former Spice Girl's hospital visit and then tarnished appearance had anything to do with her husband Stephen Belafonte. They even went so far as to suggest that he physically abused her.
Having had enough, the film producer went on Twitter to squash rumors.
According to him:
These guys never stop!
And not only did they perform, but it was the group's first live TV performance of Where Do Broken Hearts Go!
Did we mention legendary Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood joined them too?!?
Ch-ch-check out their performance, with the re-addition of Louis Tomlinson (above)!
The girls made their UK television debut on Sunday's show with a performance of their gurl power anthem BO$$ — and they absolutely SLAYED it!
Even Simon Cowell had to give them a standing ovation!
See the ladies get the entire crowd of Brits on their feet signing about Michelle Obama (below)!
We love it when celebs speak so candidly!
Well, the topic of straight women experimenting with homosexuality was brought up, and Mel admitted to having relationships with women in the past!
When Alan asked the singer to label those years, she responded by saying:
We're so excited for Fifth Harmony's debut album!!
Luckily for us, the lovely girls of Fifth Harmony sat down with Perez to give an EXCLUSIVE interview about their latest project, Reflection, and we were just thrilled to get all the deets!!
Though the girls didn't write any of the songs themselves, they talked about the amazing team that worked really hard to pen music specifically for the group's unique sound as well as their evolution from contestants on X Factor USA to a bonafide musical act.
We love a little creative collaboration! It's also wonderful to see how much these girls have grown professional and personally!
So, are you excited for December 16th as much as we are?!
Of course this Taylor Swift performance is AH-Mazing!
The pop superstar visited X Factor Australia to belt Shake It Off with a retro glam.
We're talking about sax players, back-up singers, and a whole lot of color!!
Not to mention, her vocals are ON POINT.
Ch-ch-check it out (above)!!!
There is almost too much perfection coming from Tay lately.
We're not sure what we'll do with ourselves when the album, 1989, hits the web on October 27th!
