Chris Rock Definitely Won't Be Hosting This Year's Oscars -- Not After THIS Performance, At Least...

Chris Rock

Cross Chris Rock off the list of people who might host the Oscars next month!!!
The funnyman — who has hosted the Academy Awards twice already, in 2005 and 2016 — was presenting an award at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards on Monday night in Manhattan when he went in on the current state of comedy on television, and on the Oscars.

Speaking to the crowd while presenting an award to director Bo Burnham for his film Eighth Grade, Rock started off with a likely reference to his friend, the disgraced comedian Louis C.K. (below):

“If it was five years ago, I could say something really offensive and funny right now, but I can’t do that anymore, so…heyyyy!”

Uh-oh…
Rock continued later, pointing out Steve Martin in the audience and referencing how only a clean comedian like that had better host the Oscars from here on out (below):

“Steve Martin is here. You should host the Oscars. You’re the best. Steve Martin should host the Oscars! Because I’m not doing it, goddammit! You’re not getting me.”

In the wake of Kevin Hart‘s own Oscars controversy… there’s not much question here!
And something tells us a lot of comedians, right or wrong, probably feel the same way as Rock!
What about U, Perezcious readers?! What’s your reaction to Chris Rock’s comments on the Oscars?? Sound OFF in the comments (below)!
