Following in the footsteps of Reese Witherspoon, McDreamy, Jennifer Hudson and Salma Hayek, Avon has tapped B.E.P. member Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson as the latest celebrity to hawk their product.
Fergie Ferg loves the company and who they have on their roster saying "Each one is completely different, but they are all wonderful, strong women who have a purpose. It was very important to me to bring what I have to the table. I’m a bit more rock ’n’ roll than some of the other artists, and Avon has really allowed my personality to come through."
The Avon ladies are going to be the first in line to sale the un-named fragrance.
We're sure it'll have some cheesy name like Dutchess or G-L-A-M-Orous. Barf!
But lucky for us our sense of smell won't be assaulted with the singer's scent until next fall.
Avon is really excited about their newest celebrity to jump on board. “She’s very inspirational and serves as a great partner on that front, She’s strong, she’s vocal and in my own personal opinion she is an empowered woman who stays true to herself and is not afraid to state her opinion."
The VP of Global Fragrance Marketing added “We are not just looking for celebrities or designers; we wanted a wide range of equities that would appeal to people across the globe. Fragrance is about aspirations, and Fergie is a confident, sexy woman who is not afraid to be herself. She is a very global celebrity who is exciting to women everywhere.”
So what can we expect her stench to smell like?
According to Fergie “the vibe for the scent is for the woman who wears it to feel confident and not be afraid to be noticed.”
Like being noticed when you pee your pants on stage, for example?
We hope not.
The company also plans a full arsenal of advertising including print, digital and TV ads.
Hopefully she'll look better than she did in the November issue of Vogue!
