In August, CEO Gregg Steinhafel released a statement apologizing for their decision, adding:
"…later this fall, Target will take a leadership role in bringing together a group of companies and partner organizations for a dialogue focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including GLBT issues."
Apparently his so called apology were just words on paper because they're STILL doing it!
Filings with the FEC show Target has donated thousands of dollars to these politicians since August:
Spencer Bachus — voted to ban same-sex adoptions
David Camp — supported a ban on same-sex marriage and voted against protecting gays from job discrimination
Michael Crapo — supported anti-gay Constitutional amendments
Dave Reichert — supported anti-gay Constitutional amendments
Rob Portman — supported banning same-sex adoptions
Erik Paulsen — voted against DADT repeal
John Kline — voted against treating anti-gay attacks as hate crimes
Not surprisingly, Target declined to explain their donations.
