Who new Marc Ecko was such the humanitarian? The fashion designer has launched a campaign to end corporal punishment in schools throughout the US.
In case you didn’t know, in 20 states it’s still legal for a teacher to hit a child with many of the incidents involving a paddling.
According to reports, over 200,000 students each year are involved in corporal punishment and up to 20,000 of those seek medical attention after the incident.
So Marc has decided to lend a hand in ending this out-of-date practice. Reveals Ecko:
"There are just certain habits and cycles that are worth breaking… There's no one defining the fine line between discipline and child abuse.”
Starting today, Marc has launched a new website and mobile app aimed at allowing users to contact lawmakers with e-mails, phone calls, and faxes demanding change.
