Every summer Buckingham Palace opens up to the public for touring, and this year there’s a special item to view — Kate Middleton’s wedding dress.
The Duchess of Cambridge's Alexander McQueen dress is the centerpiece of the tour this year which starts on Saturday and runs through the beginning of October.
The palace’s curator reveals:
"Visitors will see what a great example of British couture it is and how much detail and how much work went into the creation of this dress. The beauty really is in the detail."
Also on exhibit will be the bridal shoes, a replica of Kate’s bouquet made of silk flowers, a film about making the wedding dress, and even the wedding cake!
Apparently the cake is going on display in the state dining room with the top three tiers replaced by replicas as those were used.
And with all the excitement over the royal wedding and Kate, insiders expect this year's ticket sales to break records.
