Vivienne Westwood Fights Poverty While Saving The Environment

Vivienne Westwood has introduced a new handbag collection that's both eco-friendly and bettering the lives of some of the poorest people in Nairobi.
For her Ethical Fashion Africa collection the British designer provided jobs for over 7,000 people living in Kenya who handcrafted the bags out of recycled materials like electrical wiring, tent canvas, aluminum and plastic bags.
Dame Vivienne said of the project: "'This is not charity, it is work."
Westwood's bags are available on her website and Yoox.com and range in price from $49 for a keyring to $339 for a white crochet bowling bag or fabric bag.
