Just last week we told you about Jamaican dancehall artist, Vybz Kartel, who was arrested and charged for murder.
According to police, Kartel is believed to have conspired with other men to murder Barrington Burton, a 27-year-old music promoter and businessman, this past July.
But that hasn’t stopped Kartel from releasing his own line of skin bleaching products while awaiting trail. Seriously.
The reggae artist, who has also released condoms and liquor, is now facing a new load of criticism from those opposing the use of skin lightners.
Kartel has long been an advocate of them, even promoting soap bleaching products in the past and claims his bleaching line has nothing to do with racism, comparing it to straightening your hair or getting a tan. He adds:
“When black women stop straightening their hair and wearing wigs and weaves, when white women stop getting lip and butt injections and implants … then I'll stop using the 'cake soap' and we'll all live naturally ever after.”
His products are launching this month in the Caribbean with hopes that it goes global.
What do U think of skin whiteners?
