Sears is going high tech.
The corporation has announced they will introduce free wi-fi in their stores as well as equip their sales associates with Apple iPads and iPods at its almost 450 stores nationwide.
The devices will help salespeople with accessing store inventory and ordering products online while hopefully also improving customer service.
A senior VP reveals:
"Leveraging wireless access and mobile technology and putting new tools into the hands of our associates and customers is another step toward becoming a truly integrated retailer. Sears Holdings is committed to not only innovating at the product level but also to utilizing these types of technologies to continue to improve the shopping experience for our customers in the store, online and at home."
The free wi-fi will also allow customers to price check competitors without leaving the store.
Sounds like a good idea to us.
