The days of crazy fascinators and slutty dresses at the Royal Ascot are no more, thanks to a new dress code created by the race's organizers.
For ladies sitting in the Royal Enclosure dresses and skirts must be of modest length (just above the knee or longer), straps on dresses and/or tops should be 1" or greater and no midriff whatsoever is allowed.
When it comes to headpieces, hats should be worn and have a base covering of more than 4", fascinators are no longer permitted.
Ladies sitting in the grand stand must wear a hat, headpiece or fascinator at all times and strapless or sheer strap dresses and tops are not permitted.
The organizers hope these new changes will restore formality at the races.
