The Yankees Step Up To The Fragrance Plate

The New York Yankees are entering the wide world of fragrances.

The baseball team has partnered with The Cloudbreak Group to launch two fragrances: New York Yankees, a sporty, woody eau de toilette for men; and New York Yankees For Her, an alluring, flirty and playful scent.

Cloudbreak's CEO Tom Butkiewicz said of the deal:

"In a category experiencing significant unit contraction and desperately seeking innovation, this partnership, with a professional sports team of this magnitude, is an industry first. The Yankees are a multibillion-dollar franchise and we think we have a global opportunity with this deal."

Jason Latimer, the Yankees' assistant director of media and player relations, added:

"We consider ourselves a top global brand and we pride ourselves on class and elegance. We felt Cloudbreak could execute that very well in fragrance."

Both fragrances are priced at $49 for a 1.7 oz. bottle and $62 for a 3.4 oz bottle and will be available for purchase at New York metropolitan area Macy's, Yankee Stadium and online at the end of April.
