Rooney Mara has come a long way since she burst on the scene last year in The Social Network!

Now she's riding her Girl With the Dragon Tattoo wave, and she is working her white Givenchy gown on the Oscar red carpet!

Everything about this look is so dramatic. The plunge, the make-up, the hair…

We're just so used to seeing her in black, it's such a pleasant surprise to see her in white.

That being said, it's definitely very polarizing. We've heard so many people go back and forth on this one, and we get it. It's different.

But at the end of the night, it's the kind of non-traditional look we love!
