American fans of Topshop, GET READY.
Over the past 3 years cheap, chic UK based clothing store Topshop (and TOPMAN) has slowly reached its feelers into the US market - first in Manhattan’s trendy Soho district, then up North to Chicago and next month: Vegas.
Oh, but wait, it gets even better!
Topshop owner Sir Philip Green announced yesterday that he was bringing the popular fashion mecca to the Grove shopping center in Los Angeles in 2013!
The store will be taking over the 25,000 square foot space currently occupied by Banana Republic (don’t worry Banana fans - they are just moving to a smaller location).
Green has made it clear that while staying true to Topshop’s trendy styling and low(ish) prices, each US location will be individual and unique to their specific area.
The Las Vegas location in Fashion Square Mall will serve as a learning base for the future Los Angeles store.
Green said to Women’s Wear Daily:
“A trend is a trend is a trend. A mix of clicks and bricks feels right for us. New York is trading well and we’re building the online business there, too. We need another three months in Chicago before we can make any judgments. Each time we open a store we learn something new, but we do know what we stand for: We’re first to market, we’re about trends and people don’t need us for basics. And we’ve got to be fresh and on our game.”
Topshop has been home to Kate Moss' label and is a favorite among fashion-forward celebrities!
We are simply bursting with fashionable excitement!
