Skip The Bikini & Get With The Monokini

Not quite ready for bikini season this summer?

That's okay! You can still hide some flaws with a monokini!

Fashion Star stylist Daniel Musto says it's this summer's hottest swimwear trend!

Here's his tip:

On the beaches of Baywatch, Pamela Anderson stole the show in her one piece, cherry-red swimsuit as C.J. Parker. I think we can all agree that the stylist for the show made some alterations to the classic "lifeguard uniform" that cheated some more skin.

Luckily for us, Pamela proved that a look which at one point was only for the body-conscious crowd could still look sexy, as long as it cheated a little T+A. Off of the concept that fashion comes before tan-lines, the "monokini" was born. It took a few years to convince women that the beach doubles as a runway, but today girls of all ages can be seen swimming in one-pieces. Today's bikini tops and bottoms have become friends and are now joined together by straps, hardware, and jewelry.

So, channel your inner C.J. and throw on a skimpy monokini. Just be careful to avoid a nip slip when running along the shore!
