Remember that prom contest Nine West and their Ambassador of Culture and Noise, Kelly Cutrone orchestrated this spring!?
We finally know who Got Prom'd!
So who was crowned queen of Kelly Cutrone's contest???
The lucky winner was Rachel DiCesare of Newburgh Free Academy, from the inner city of Orange County, New York.
To enter, Rachel had to give nine reasons why she and her friends deserved a makeover, and her #1 was dreaming of going to prom after overcoming a childhood obstacle.
The second, and quite possibly the most touching, was reason #2, which said:
“I’ve always wanted to look like a princess on my prom night and perhaps have the chance to shine.”
On June 6th, Cutrone surprised Rachel at her school, and she and 10 friends got the makeover she dreamed of.
Nine West’s in-house atelier team custom designed the gowns out of silk, satin, lace and any other rich fabric the girls’ dresses required. The brand also accessorized the girls, giving them jewelry, handbags and shoes.
Cutrone also reached out to Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa who created and donated personalized makeup palettes for each winner and hair and makeup specialists were on site to develop customized looks for each girl.
Kelly even gave them a quick etiquette lesson and a gift bag so they’d be all ready to go for their big night!
The girls looked fantastic! We’re so glad that some big names in fashion take the time to surprise girls like Rachel and give them the experience of a lifetime!!
