Boo! Hospital Worker Fired For Wearing Too Much Makeup

Say whaaa?
Francine Siddaway worked at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for three years, when she was suddenly fired for wearing too much makeup! Siddaway explains how she was “victimized”:
“I like Egyptian-look make up. My makeup is my armor - it makes me feel confident. They say my make-up is 'offensive', but how can it be when the other staff often compliment me on it? I feel comfortable with my make-up and I can't see how it could hamper my work or cause any health and safety problems. I work really hard so I do not see it is a problem. I feel I have been victimised and treated appallingly. I went to the interview for the job wearing this style of make-up and I have worn it ever since. It is pretty obvious why they have now suddenly decided they have a problem with my make-up - at the same time as job cuts.”
Hmm… that does seem a bit suspicious!
The hospital has said she was dismissed due to “insubordination” and also said that she left without permission, which Francine says is not true!
Unison steward at Medirest, Richard Heath, has said that the organization believes she’s a victim and is backing Francine up!
We get that there’s a dress code at every workplace, but why would they wait until three years later to bring it up, especially if she interviewed with her Egyptian-look?
