Virgin America claims to have the "coolest living in the sky," and now they will also be the best dressed airline!
But this isn't the first time Virgin America is staging a fashion forward appeal. A few months ago, passengers aboard the airline's flight from New York to El Lay received a fashion show as Banana Republic put their Mad Men collection on display.
With passenger's falling head-over-heels over the 35,000 feet in the air fashion show, we're not surprised that the air shuttle tapped the brand to design their uniforms.
Banana Republic’s Creative Director and Executive Vice President, Simon Kneen said:
"In creating the uniform designs for Virgin America, we wanted to respect the heritage of in-flight uniform design while injecting a modern twist that’s both functional and fashionable. We referenced the time when onboard style and sophistication was of utmost importance and designed a modern interpretation that incorporates aviation details and celebrates Virgin America’s signature style."
"A critical part of the initial design process was when our Banana Republic design team spoke with Virgin America flight crew members to get an inside look at what they truly wanted for the uniforms they would be wearing every day."
The label took to the drawing board and created some very cutting-edge styles with certain items available for purchase in their stores for a limited time.
And that's not all!
Customer's who fly with the airline can snatch some Banana Republic travel goods inspired by the new fab uniforms including aviator sunglasses, totes, messenger bags, and trenches that can be purchased through the aircraft's entertainment system.
The uniforms are set to debut August 8 on Virgin America flights and at airports nationwide, and we can hardly wait!
