"I now pronounce you dog and bitch!", said Triumph the Insult Comic Dog as he officiated the most expensive pet wedding in history!
Teacup-sized Coton de Tulear, Baby Hope Diamond was joined in holy muttrimony with a tie-dyed poodle named Chilly Pasternakon Thursday in New York.
The black-tie event was held in the Jumeirah Essex House and cost $250,000, with $6,000 of it being spent on Baby Hope's custom-made Henry Roth dress.
The owners planned the wedding for the Humane Society of New York to raise money and awareness of animal homelessness.
Sara Wilcox, Guinness World Records adjudicator, was in attendance and proudly announced it was "the most expensive pet wedding in history." The record was previously held by two cats in Thailand who had a $16,241 wedding.
Many of the vendors donated their services for the event, which totaled tens of thousands of dollars! One of the vendors was Carlo's Bakery aka the bakery on TLC's Cake Boss, who created a five-tiered cake with a bisou frise as the topper.
In all, there were 250 guests, 50 dogs and a ton of "pup"arazzi.
Congrats to the newlyweds and to the owners for bringing awareness to the cause!
