Some people just don't learn!
A New York- based designer-loving mother and daughter duo has lost a lawsuit brought on them by Coach Inc. for selling counterfeit goods on their websites Bellafashions.net and MyClassyFashion.com.
Coach was also given a permanent injunction against the pair, which allows them to shut down their websites.
What's shocking is they already had legal action brought against them by Chanel in 2007, which according to the judge, was the "same exact illegal conduct" on their websites MyClassyFashion.com and UltimateDesignersHandbags.com.
Since there was a prior precedent with the two, the judge said:
"Linda Allen plainly requires substantial deterrence because she has not been deterred by prior judgments. She persists in her contumacious behavior. This award may be crippling, but it is plainly needed to prevent Allen from going back once again into the business of counterfeiting."
When asked about the situation, Linda Allen first claimed to know nothing, then she said "it’s not valid" and that she hadn’t heard about a verdict yet.
If you do the crime, apparently you’ll have to give up your last dime!
