Bed bugs are as popular as designer handbags in New York City, but definitely not as fabulous!
The Urban Outfitters store on Sixth Avenue in NYC is infested with bed bugs, but the retailer has yet to confirm the nasty problem and isn't taking the necessary steps to resolve the mess.
According to a source, two employees told their supervisors that they have bed bugs in their homes:
"As soon as it started getting hotter, everyone started getting bites, probably because everyone shares one communal office: bags, coats, everything goes in there. Employees told their supervisors they were getting bitten and asked what they should do. But they haven't really done much."
Pest control was called in, but only the break room, office and lockers were treated, which defeated the whole purpose because the store area where people shop was neglected.
Back in 2010, Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Victoria's Secret and Juicy Couture's New York stores were also infested with the parasitic insects, so the Urban Outfitters case is kinda sorta normal.
For their customers sake, we hope UO will take this matter a little more seriously and get those nasty ass bugs outta there.
