Remember Rihanna's nearly nekked Nivea campaign?
Well, the president of Nivea's parent company, Beiersdorf, thinks it was a mistake to tap the songstress to represent the brand, mostly because of her overtly sexy image.
Stefan Heidenreich told German newspaper, Welt:
"The advert starring Rihanna was a no go. I do not understand how Nivea can be brought into association with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability"
The crazy thing is that the starlet's topless photograph isn't even racy. The whole point is to show off her silky, smooth Nivea skin, which you can't exactly do while wearing a lot of clothes.
If anything's going to be deemed "too sexy" it's the commercial (below) that features a woman and man rolling around in bed together, and even that's a stretch.
And what's the point of bringing this up now? The ad's already been out for over a year! Move on!
