This should smell scrumptious!
Marchesa's Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are taking their brand from the red carpet to the beauty counter with the launch of their first ever fragrance, Marchesa Parfume d’Extase.
The designing duo didn't want to have anything "too sweet" so they settled on a mixture of iris, freesia, young violet leaves, night-blooming jasmine, iris root, ambrox and musk.
When it came to bottling the scent, Georgina wanted a bottle that would tie in with their gowns, saying:
"Eveningwear evokes an emotion, and this scent does the same thing. We looked at our handbags and the signature crystals they have, and we really wanted to incorporate that element."
They did that by encapsulating the smelly juice in a clear faceted bottle with hand-set crystal accents resembling a bow.
As far as pricing is concerned, the fragrance is a helluva lot cheaper than their garments. $60 will get you a 30 ml. bottle, $85 for a 50 ml. and a rollerball is $25.
If you want to douse yourself in Marchesa Parfume d’Extase, it wafts into Sephora and Sephora-inside-JCPenney in September.
