Nike Does Away With Midnight Shoe Releases

The days of long lines at midnight to buy to freshest pair of Nike kicks are over!

The company recently issued new "safety rules" ahead of the fall release of the LeBron X Nike Plus prohibiting retailers from opening their doors before 8am and showing pictures or descriptions of the shoes before they go on sale.

Nike spokesman, Brian Strong, explained their reasoning, stating:

"Consumer safety and security is of paramount importance. We always encourage anyone wishing to purchase our product to do so in a respectful and safe manner, and constantly evaluate our distribution policies with a view to ensuring a positive consumer experience."

With midnight release has been swooshed away, Nike is going full speed ahead with their Twitter RSVP, which lets you reserve newly released shoes at your local store on "first respond, first serve" basis.

As complicated as it may sound, we’re glad Nike’s trying to stop the chaos because let's be real, they're just shoes.
