The Today Show's newest co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie, has reportedly been told to wear shorter heels so that she isn’t taller than her co-host Matt Lauer.
The 5'10" Guthrie admitted on a Today blog she would "always go barefoot" after being told she was too tall for the set, but now she's recanting.
Savannah said the tale "is as tall as my heel", with an NBC rep adding:
"It’s not exactly a state secret that Savannah’s taller than her co-hosts in heels, but NBC doesn’t dictate the height of her heels or her chair. Savannah owns heels of all heights and likes to mix up her footwear, and she adjusts her seat as she sees fit."
Hmm. We're sure Ann Curry would beg to differ on the whole dictating thing, but if that's what the Peacock wants us to believe, so be it.
