Stefano Pilati is employed once again after being fired from Yves Saint Laurent earlier this year.
The designer will now take over as the creative director of Ermenegildo Zegna menswear and revamp its womenswear line, Agnona.
CEO of the Zegna Group, Gildo Zegna expressed how happy he is to have Stefano on the team:
”I’m thrilled to have Stefano in our group as he brings great talent, invaluable experience and enormous enthusiasm. We have ambitious plans for Agnona, and we strongly believe that under his creative leadership we will be able to develop this little jewel into a global brand.”
"We have been thinking about its role in fashion for some time. With this appointment, we will be able to combine our tradition in tailoring and our leadership in innovative materials with a new vision for men’s fashion."
Pilati was attracted to the label because of its association with pristine fabrics like alpaca and vicuna and its manufacturing skill and after working for fashion houses like Miu Miu, Prada and Giorgio Armani, he should have no problems fitting in.
The fashioner will begin working for Zegna January 1st, and will show his first men's collection and a cruise line for Agnona next June.
We cannot wait to see what the lines are going to look like and wish nothing but the best of luck to Pilati!!!
