Valentino's Traditionally Roman For Spring
Not from the toga-wearing days, but still classic.
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, drew inspiration for the Valentino S/S 2013 collection, from the city where they live and work: Rome.
Chiuri talked about their urban muse, saying:
"In some ways, our idea of it is not so beautiful. But for us, the city and fashion are about dreams."
Shift dresses and A-lines were the trend of the collection, but with traditional accents added, like hand-painted flowers.
The spring line did nothing to push the Valentino envelope, but if it's not broke why fix it?
