Joseph Gordon-Levitt's hitRECord Production Co Partners With Levi's!

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is doing more than just wearing Levi's, he's partnering with them!

The denim company has signed on to support JGL's open-collaborative production company, hitRECord, and its community of artists.

As part of the collaboration, Levi's will sponsor hitRECord's six city mini tour, distribute their more "polished videos" on the web and create a limited-edition piece of art.

Sounds like this affiliation is going to be hitting record over and over again!!

Check out JGL's announcement (above)!

It's really disappointing that HitRECord went from being the greatest thing on the internet to becoming an example of how once money becomes involved with art, things change. Unfortunately, many artists have chosen to leave HitRECord after not being paid in fair time for our work. We are 3 months in to 2013 and many of us are still waiting to be paid our profits from contributions we made to money-making projects from all the way back in 2011. Joe said in his video to members of HitRECord back in 2010 which announced that HitRECord was changing into a for-profit business that we were just going to have to trust him. At the time, I did, but now, it's just too hard to. It hurts my feelings when I visit the site and see Joe asking people to pay considerably high amounts of money to buy products and sign up for subscriptions for things that HitRECord is selling when they aren't even paying their artists with the money they already have accrued from past money-making ventures. They need to stop using our money to make things to sell and pay us the money we earned by sharing our art with them.

Well, the link to that statement from HitRECord disppeared from my comment, but if you Google this: RE: 2011 Profit Updates by hitRECord … you can see that I am being truthful about my previous comment. Artists, just, beware before joining, because once you do, you cannot undo it.
