Opening Ceremony has made its way across the pond and opened up their King Street store on Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be official without Chloe Sevigny!
The model slash actress and designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim sat down to answer some questions about their collaboration and it was pretty HIGHlarious!
Chloe had the hankering for awhile, saying:
"I loved visiting the store, and people were always asking me, 'When are you doing a fashion line?' I said that if I ever did do a line, I would want to do it with Opening Ceremony. Sometimes I wear Opening Ceremony head to toe - it happens all the time, in fact, and I'll send Carol and Humberto a text. People asked me why I did it [the line] - it's because I wanna frickin' wear it!"
Leon went on to say that their first collab included Chloe’s Liberty prints, and then praised her, saying, "This was back in 2004, before Liberty prints boomed, so Chloe was ahead of the curve."
He emphasized that they’re just suburban kids, and the word "geeky" was thrown around by all!
Geek chic! We love it! Lolz!
Leon also talked about how they feel when they see people wearing something they designed. He had a silly answer, stating:
"We still get excited when people wear our clothes. We still geek out about it. I take pictures on my iphone when I see a girl wearing something! We are real nerds."
They also let it slip that they'd love to do a collection with the NBA, particularly the Lakers since they're huge fans! Who knows, maybe we'll see a collection soon!
We're just glad to see the brand doing so well and making the move overseas!
