The Christian Dior job offer caused all sorts of dramz for Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy.
In an interview with Port magazine, Duffy revealed that while the two didn't come to blows, they did get in a big fight over whether or not Marc should take over John Galliano's job.
Duffy explains it wasn't a matter of if MJ could do it, it was more about what he wanted to do:
"Marc really wanted to stay at Louis Vuitton and I just want him to do whatever makes him happy, and that was all that I was saying to him all along. I think that he felt that because when I was asked if I thought that he was capable of doing that and I said ‘yes’, he thought that meant I wanted him to do it, and that’s not what I meant at all, but we straightened it all out in the end and it worked out just fine. But, I know it sounds so silly now, we had a big fight over it."
So it wasn't about money, after all.
Oh well, like Duffy said, everything worked out for the best and Marc can get back to what matters: fashion!
