Nothing does the trick like a limited-edition designer collection!
JCPenney decided to launch their first-ever collaboration with Nigerian-born and London-based designer Duro Olowu!
The print-loving designer always said no to collaborating in the past, but felt JCP was the perfect partnership. He explains:
"I’ve always tried to give women a sense of inner beauty with joy, and now it’s just the right time to make that more democratic. When I was thinking about this collection, I wanted to give American classic shapes and ideas a global flair. This collection is for anyone, from 18 to 80. Everything has a flattering element, whether you mix prints or pull out one piece and keep it simple."
Duro went beyond his own designs and had his friend, artist Bella Foster, create some of the prints and style icon Iris Apfel design some of the handbags and necklaces.
If Iris is on board, you know it's fab!
The Duro Olowu for jcp collection goes on sale in March with price points ranging from $10-$100.
We're glad that JCPenney is so super serious about getting on par with their competitors.
