We can’t wait to see this!
As we mentioned before, Barneys and Disney have partnered up for the holidays to create an animated short dubbed, “Electric Holiday,” featuring beloved Disney characters hobnobbing with some of fashion’s most notorious personalities.
The short, which will be looped on LED tiles covering the facade of the Madison Avenue store, begins as a dream as Minnie Mouse finds herself gazing longingly at a Lanvin gown in a Barneys window display.
Her daydreams whisk her off to Paris Fashion Week where she and her fellow Disney friends get noticeably slimmed down to partake in an elaborate runway show!
You'll see Mickey Mouse getting styled by ex-Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, Cruella de Vil getting her hair did by Julien d’Ys, and Minnie Mouse being given the makeover treatment by Pat McGrath. Quel chic!
Once they’re done being prepped, Mickey & Co. strut down the catwalk like bona fide supermodels, as Sarah Jessica Parker, French Vogue editor Emmanuelle Alt, supermodels Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista, former French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, and Harper's Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey look on.
After the show, Minnie comes back to reality to find Mickey beside her with the Lanvin dress she'd been coveting. How sweet of him!
Does this all sound super cute or what?!
The fashionistas who participated in the short had to sign off on the rights to their likenesses. And if you will notice, one very high-profile American magazine editor is conspicuously absent.
Maybe it was all just too twee for La Wintour.
Whatever. We would’ve signed on in a heartbeat!
