Is there a worse indictment in the fashion world than being pronounced irrelevant?
We don't think so!
Christian Dior's current head designer Raf Simons throws magnificent shade at his predecessor, the scandal-plagued John Galliano, in an interview for Vogue Australia's December issue.
He tells the mag:
I have so much respect for John [Galliano]‘s technical skill and the fantasy, it’s just something that I don’t find relevant now, especially when it restricts a woman, because in every other area they have so much freedom.
Diplomatic shade, yet shade nonetheless!
We doubt Galliano, who boasts quite the impressive oeuvre for Dior, thinks any of his designs will ever be irrelevant.
It must really hurt to be dismissed so publicly by your fashion peers.
Alas, c'est la vie!
