In case you were in a turkey coma or standing in ungodly long lines for those doorbuster deals on Friday, the pop phenom received the distinct honor of a Diamond Jubilee medal from Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper wearing overalls.

Yes, overalls.

Not surprisingly, the Beauty And A Beat singer was criticized for his Canadian country swagger, with the Daily Mail's Hayley Peterson going as far as calling him a "white trash prince", and now he's on the defensive.

Biebs took to Instagram on Sunday night to explain his sartorial choice, writing:

"The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where i was performing at that day. I walked straight from my meet and greet to him, if you "Hayley" expect me to have a change of clothes let a loan a suit at that specific time that's crazy, It wasn't like it was like I was going into his environment we were at a hockey arena. Wow am i ever white trash hayley peterson lol"
