Luckily though, the decline hasn’t been as bad as it could have been. They prepared for a 25% decline, and so far it’s only been 22%, which is still a lot but not horrible.
Oprah’s been vocal about how much she likes holding the magazine in her hand, but she's also a realist.
"Obviously, the show was helping in ways that you know I hadn’t accounted for. I’m not interested, you know, in bleeding money."
Another big problem they’re having with moving mags is also the age group. Currently the median age is 49, but the Big O wants her readership in the 20s and 30s.
She explained, saying she wants “to be able to reach people when they are looking to fulfill their destiny. By the time you’re 40, 42, you should have kind of figured it out already.”
Since we so generously gave you an idea to boost your Favorite Things ratings, here's one for your mag: put other people on the magazine cover other than yourself! Say someone that's young, hot and uber popular like Justin Bieber or One Direction.
That shiz would sell like hotcakes!
Worst case scenario, go completely digital.
What do U think Oprah should do???
