Maison Martin Margiela Was A Designer Dud For H&M

The rest of Earth just isn’t as fashion forward as
Kanye West got his, but not too many people can say their jacket is Maison Martin Margiela for H&M.
Why? Because no one's buying it or to whole collection for that matter.
Like Lanvin and Versace before it, the fast fashion retailer thought they had another smash-hit on their hand by collaborating with Margiela, only to discover nobody was picking up what they were putting on the racks.
Some reasons for this, according to insiders, are that the prices were up to $399, when they’re normally $100 on the high end. There's also a lot of inventory because H&M listened to their customers and produced more goods than usual.
Despite the designer duds sitting in the clearance section, an H&M spokesman said:
“[We’re] very happy by [our] customers’ positive response. [Our] philosophy is to provide fashion for everyone at affordable prices.”
Well, we can't say we're too surprised. Hopefully next time H&M will pick their designer collaborations for carefully.
