Mormon Women Receive Death Threats For Wearing Pants To Church

This just makes us sad!

Nobody should get their life threatened for wearing pants.

Pants are awesome!

Though it's not explicitly stated, the Mormon Church's dress code is not pants-friendly, and many women feel obligated to wear dresses when they attend services.

Recently, a young Mormon woman named Stephanie Lauritzen launched the "Wear Pants To Church" campaign via Facebook in an effort to encourage more women to wear pants, if they felt like it, and to shine a light on the gender inequalities still plaguing the Mormon community.

Within days of her post, thousands of Mormon women across the country showed their support and wore pants to church last Sunday.

Unfortunately, many were met with negative reactions, dirty looks, and hostile words, with one man saying:

"Women who want to wear pants, they just don’t know how to follow the Lord."

But worst of all, some women, including Stephanie, received death threats, and one person, who is currently being investigated by authorities, even threatened to shoot women who wore pants to church.

Unbelievable!

We understand that churchgoers like to dress modestly, but there's nothing immodest about pants!

Hopefully these brave women will get a chance to have their voices heard!
