Anne Hathaway Apologizes For Not Wearing Valentino To The Oscars! Read Her Statement HERE!
Anne Hathaway's not about to burn any designer bridges, especially with the man who made her wedding dress!
And it appears the rumors of Amanda Seyfried inadvertently stealing Annie's fashion thunder were true!
The actress recently released a statement apologizing for ditching her Valentino dress at the last minute, saying:
"It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans. Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused."
We're guessing there was simply no time for the actress to get her hands on a different Valentino dress in time for the ceremony, so she just went with her second fave–Prada!
And we also just hallucinated a bit thinking of all the fanciful frocks she must've had at her disposal!
But don't worry, girl, we're sure Mr. Garavani is the forgiving type.
There's gonna be many more opportunities to wear his creations in the future! Possibly for a second Oscar win. Ha!

The Valentino dress is clearly so much better. I'm just glad that there was a valid reason for the switch. I couldn't imagine the Valentino could have looked worse than the Prada.

To be fair, this dress and the McQueen Seyfried ARE ridiculously similar, and the last thing you want is to be wearing a similar dress to the Oscars. Just surprising she didn't have a better back-up planned? I think most celebrities always have an outfit waiting in the wings. Wise to switch - just a poor backup. Must be very embarrassing for Prada, too.

I agree Mr Pete. Anne was the NOMINEE I'm sure her CO-STAR would have or could have been made to switch dresses if Anne wanted. Totally thought the same thing, she was trying to be Audrey Hepburn and it didn't work. Is Rachel Zoe still styling Anne? If so I hope Rachel was sick when the Prada was picked.
Definately prefer the Valentino the Prada is a bit too school prom plus she is super thin at the moment and is starting to look like one of the lollipops with big head and little stick body.

Everyone always thinks I'm ridiculous for hating Anne Hathaway so much, but it's stuff like THIS that justifies how I feel. Who the hell cares what dress she wears to some stupid awards show? She seems to think that she's the most important human being on the planet. It makes me sick.
