Liberated and it feels so good!
It's been a rollercoaster of a year for the model slash actress slash scorned wife, and though her marriage has fallen apart, Liberty Ross appears to be doing very well.
Amidst the chaos, she smartly rode out the drama and came out on top, even enjoying quite the modeling career resurrection.
In her latest gig, the 34-year-old appears in Net-A-Porter.com's The Edit magazine, looking youthful and glowing in pieces by Marc Jacobs, Erdem, Valentino, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Burberry, Christopher Kane, and Nina Ricci.
And she gets candid about her life in the interview, sharing tales from her fashion past, present, and future.
Here are some HIGHlights:
On her early style:
"I grew up on Portobello Road [West London] and spent my Sundays rummaging through the flea market with my mother and siblings to find vintage jewelry and fur jackets. Even then, I always mixed what I already had with unique market finds."
On that infamous runway appearance for Alexander Wang:
"Alex [Wang] called and asked me to do it. It was a defining moment and I felt honored to be supported by him during that difficult time. I was not in a good way at that point in my life and felt incredibly vulnerable. Doing the show was daunting, but it was wonderful to get up there, show my strength and shine for someone who believes in me. I was very grateful."
On what types of clothes make her feel powerful:
"Sharp, structured silhouettes make me feel strong. Give me a tailored Tom Ford pantsuit or a fitted dress by Alexander McQueen and my favorite Alaïa heels and I'm ready, I'm in control."
On her fave runway moment:
"The first time I walked for Dior in Paris aged 19 – such a spectacle. John Galliano was at the helm then and [makeup artist] Pat McGrath had created these big paper eyelashes for us all to wear. It was incredible to be that young and work with such pioneering talents."
On her life's motto:
"Live, love, laugh."
Keep on doing your thing, Liberty! We hope to see more of you soon!
