New Anti-Rape Lingerie Will Shock The Hell Out Of Attackers!

| Filed under: Fashion SmashionTech Talk

lingerie will shock attackers 1

Three engineers in India have created electroshock undergarments that will keep women safe from rapists and sexual predators!

They call it SHE, or Society Harnessing Equipment, and comes equipped with GPS, pressure sensors and a mobile communications system so if the wearer is attacked it will shock the attacker (up to 82 times!) and send an alert to the parents and police.

The trio of engineers were inspired to make the underwear after a woman was gang raped and fatally beaten on a bus in December and decided something had to be done to protect women NOW since the legal system is so damn slow!

They explained:

"Since the lawmakers take ages to come up with just laws and even after that, women are unsafe. Hence, we have initiated the idea of self‐defense which protects the women from domestic, social and workplace harassment. We came across many such incidents of harassment during our survey in women’s hostel. So we decided to make this project which can be implemented easily."

They predict that it will be ready for mass production by sometime this month.

It's fantastic that people are taking strides to make sure that everyone can feel safe at all times.

How is this brilliant? This is the most sexist thing I have ever seen. We as women are supposed to constantly wear a GPS and taser on our vaginas on the off chance we may be raped? Absolutely disgusting.

Re: alana – hahaha sexist? It's true! Have you ever heard of any men getting gang raped by women?? It's not sexist, it happens and these men are just offering their help to women who choose to take it, no one is EXPECTING you to do anything..chill out.

Re: alexis – I think she was implying that it's sexist because instead of doing something to prevent men from raping women, they're creating something that prevents women being raped. For instance, giving a seminar at school telling women how not to get raped instead of giving a seminar telling men not to rape. I understand what she is implying, but I do not agree with it. This is not sexist, this is proactive. There's really nothing that can be done by civilians to prevent a man from raping at this point. That's up to lawmakers, and as this article points out.. they're taking too much time. Being offended by the availability of gps and vagina tasers is like being offended by children having gps implanted in them to prevent abduction and molestation. Sometimes protecting the victim is the only available option.

Re: alana – Your lack of empathy is actually really disturbing. Maybe you live in a fairy tale bubble but in some country, women will be glad and thankful to wear this. "The off chance we may get raped" as you said, happens more often than you think so please be careful of your choice of word when you express your opinion!

I think the issue is that lingerie is inherently sexy & the exact opposite reaction you want from a rapist is arousal. Frankly, I am all for it… But it I am a rapist, wouldn't I just rip it off, first?

Re: alana – How is this sexist?! No one is forcing women to wear this, it is an optional precaution for those who live in dangerous areas. In some third world countries women have to worry about being raped every day.

Why don't they figure out a way of stopping men from raping so we don't have to wear these ridiculous things!

Love this. It's a good idea, I would wear it everyday if is available

how ironic that the inventors are from India, where men think its ok to rape women/girls and can get away with it.

Re: Ellie4cats – ya go ahead…try to rip it off! That's the whole point!

it should also have something to spit on the rapists face and leave a huge mark on his forehead so that the police can find them more easily.
