After two years as the creative director for Mugler, Nicola Formichetti is parting ways with the French fashion house.
Obviously, the split was "mutual", as it always is in these cases.
"Nicola has accomplished our original mission of bringing his energy to the brand. With his talent for communication and understanding modern imagery and design, Nicola has been instrumental in attracting a new audience which is undeniably crucial for the future strategy of the house. He will be a historical part of the Mugler legacy and known as the force that catapulted us forward."
The stylist himself tweeted a less formal good-bye on Tuesday:
its was a great 2 years at MUGLER. hope you all enjoyed our journey together. but now its time to move on!! x @muglerlive

The peeps at Mugler are already looking ahead and focusing on a plan "that builds on [the brand's] highly successful legacy in fragrance and its new momentum in fashion."
And may we suggest the brand's bigwigs consider hiring Nicolas Ghesquière as creative director?
Just a suggestion!
